The Aztecs of Mexico
The Aztec people were made of certain groups of people in todays Central Mexico by mainly Nahuatl speakers from what scientists think is todays south-western North America although in Aztec legend it is said that their tribes migrated from a mythical place in northen south America called Aztlan. The Aztec Empire lasted about nine hundred years from 600-1521 AD. Their chroniclers told them they were outcasts of Aztlan, sent to the valley by their god, Huitzilopochtli. Each year more and more outcasts travelled to the valley, and more and more buildings and cities were created, this became the Aztec Empire.
